We are a not-for-profit organisation providing counselling and psychotherapy services.

We have a team of qualified counsellors and counsellors who are in training. All our counsellors are DBS checked and registered members of professional counselling bodies regulated by the professional standards agency.

The Pelham is a charity which offers confidential counselling to people aged 11 years plus. One of our main aims is to provide an affordable service for those on a low income or living on benefits.

Weekly counselling fees are explained during the initial assessment. This will be agreed between you and the assessor.

We operate a sliding scale of fees, our full price is £50 per session.

Counselling is for a time in our lives when we feel we can’t cope. Our counsellors are here to support you to address difficulties, build resilience and bring about long-lasting positive change.

The Pelham is a local Christian charity that enriches lives in practical and diverse ways for our community in Sidley, Bexhill. This is through connection, encouragement and opportunities in an era of isolation and great challenge. The Pelham aims to benefit the community as a Charity, Community Hub & Coffee Lounge, though our charitable activities & projects, and effective partnership working.

The Pelham Counselling Service is here to provide high quality, effective and affordable counselling.  We are rooted in our Christian values and beliefs. We are here to prosper our community, to support people with their emotional wellbeing to give people a positive hope and a bright future.

Counselling service charges

We have a range of fully qualified counsellors as well as counsellors in training. Prices start from £50 per session.


We do offer bursaries from £45 – £30 per session, this can be discussed at assessment. There is also limited further financial assistance for those who are unable to afford the service even with a bursary.

Abide by the Code of Conduct, ethical guidelines and Best Practice Standards as set out by the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).

Adhere to the core conditions of counselling: genuineness, unconditional acceptance, and empathy.

Monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of the work undertaken by our counsellors through supervision, appraisals, and client feedback.
