About The Pelham

“Pelham Hotel will be a community asset”

Bexhill Observer 14/03/14

There is so much more to The Pelham than meets the eye. A beautiful Victorian hotel built opposite Sidley Railway Station to accompany the ever expanding needs of the railway industry in 1900. It is steeped in history but a modern community necessity. You can read a little more in the timeline below of how it has developed into the vibrant, bustling community centre that it now is.
Serving great coffee in the Community Coffee Lounge (the old bar), at the best prices, in heart of Sidley, The Pelham has been dedicated as a gift to the community. With a team of around 20 volunteers, The Pelham aims to help everybody possible by hosting debt counselling services, local ‘ice-breaker’ groups, aiding people back into employment, volunteer opportunities, enterprises, providing space for business meetings, community groups/classes, parties and of course, casual cafe goers.

Make sure to ask us about the stake on the wall when you visit…

The story of The Pelham continues!

“This is already a story of redemption and restoration, and we believe the best is yet to come to restore this building to its former and new glory, and see a town changed for good.”
