On the job training

The Pelham Building Enterprise is a construction, building and maintenance enterprise providing intermediate employment opportunities for local young people. The on-the-job training is centred around The Pelham premises, with the trainees gaining practical experience and confidence under the support and guidance of a team of builders and supervisors.

Opportunities to work

Included in the work is construction site visits, school trips, jobs fairs, health and safety training and work experience placement on the construction sites.

Our partners

As part of this scheme, The Pelham is the local agent for delivering the Local Employment and Skills Plans (LESPs) as part of the section 106 agreement between building developers in Bexhill and the Local Authority, Rother District Council. We are currently working with Barratt David Wilson at the Rosewood Park site, and Bovis Homes at The Gateway.
